JUTHŪR / SERVICE BRIEF
Application Security Review
Know what must be fixed before wider exposure.
A clearly scoped review of application access, data protection and implementation risks—including applications built with Lovable and other AI-assisted tools.
Business value
Replace a vague sense of safety with evidence-backed findings, severity, affected assets and an actionable remediation plan. Keep assessment, fixing and retesting distinct.
When this service fits
For application owners preparing a release, adding sensitive data or reviewing an AI-built product before broader use.
01
What we work on
Scope follows your business context. These capabilities define the conversation—not a fixed package imposed on every organization.
Identity & authorization
Review authentication, session handling and whether each role can access only its intended resources.
Database & data access
Inspect available access policies, sensitive-data paths and storage exposure within the authorized scope.
Secrets & server boundaries
Review where credentials live, which actions run server-side and how integrations are protected.
Dependencies & runtime AI
Assess accessible dependency risks and, where applicable, prompt injection, retrieval boundaries and data leakage paths.
02
Where this becomes practical
Illustrative workflows—not client case studies. The solution and controls are defined for each engagement.
01A Lovable-built application
Current friction
The owner can use the interface but has not validated data-access rules.
Proposed direction
Review roles, database policies and sensitive operations with authorized test accounts.
Essential control: Never treat a successful login as proof that authorization is correct.
02An application with external integrations
Current friction
API keys and third-party actions are connected rapidly.
Proposed direction
Inspect credential handling and the authorization of server-side operations.
Essential control: No secret is intentionally published or shared in a public report.
03An internal AI assistant
Current friction
Documents are retrieved without a clear permission model.
Proposed direction
Review retrieval access and representative leakage or injection scenarios.
Essential control: Assess only authorized assets and agreed testing methods.
03
What you receive
Tangible deliverables that support a decision, implementation or operating handover. The final list is agreed before work starts.
Scope, timing, investment and support are agreed after discovery. No fixed outcome or timeline is assumed.
Agreed review scope
Applications, environments, access, testing methods and explicit exclusions.
Prioritized findings report
Evidence, severity rationale, affected paths and reproduction guidance where safe.
Remediation guidance
Recommended changes and a sequenced action list for the responsible team.
Retest option
Separately agreed verification of selected fixes, with residual gaps recorded.
04
How the engagement moves forward
- 01
Authorize
Agree assets, environments, methods and written permission.
- 02
Inspect
Review accessible code, configuration and approved test paths.
- 03
Report
Explain evidence, severity, impact and remediation priorities.
- 04
Verify fixes
Retest agreed changes if included, and distinguish fixed from unverified findings.
05
How value is evaluated
Agree the baseline and measurement method before claiming an improvement. Include review, exceptions and ongoing operating costs.
Coverage
Baseline to establish
List in-scope assets and approved test methods.
What to evaluate
Report what was reviewed and what was inaccessible.
Remediation status
Baseline to establish
Record findings and responsible owners.
What to evaluate
Separate fixed, retested, accepted and unresolved items.
Residual risk
Baseline to establish
Document exclusions and untested assumptions.
What to evaluate
Carry these into release and operating decisions.
What we need from your team
Written authorization, named assets and environments, appropriate code/configuration access and designated test accounts. Testing on production requires explicit agreement and safeguards.
Scope & responsibilities
A security review is a time-bound assessment, not a guarantee of security, a compliance certificate, continuous monitoring or automatically a penetration test. Remediation and retesting are included only when agreed. Relevant OWASP guidance informs scope; it does not certify the application.
06
Questions before we begin
Is this a penetration test?
Not by default. Penetration testing requires an explicit methodology, authorization, environment and specialist scope.
Will you fix every issue?
The review identifies and prioritizes issues. Remediation and retesting are defined separately; inaccessible or out-of-scope assets remain stated gaps.
Does this prove regulatory compliance?
No. Findings can support risk decisions, but legal compliance and independent certifications require their own assessment.
Can an AI-built app be secure?
Its development method does not establish security either way. Access controls, implementation, configuration and operating practices must be assessed.
